Vision Theater Creator
Creator Guide
Updated 2 September 2026
Vision Theater is a theater for immersive video on Apple Vision Pro. You create on your desktop, here; audiences watch in the headset. This guide walks through every screen you will find in the portal and says, for each, what a Creator and a Vision Creator can do there.
1. The two kinds of creator
- A Creator publishes free work in any format: 180°, 360°, Wide, Spatial and 2D. Free work is how audiences find you. Creators do not earn, and nothing about money appears anywhere in a Creator’s portal.
- A Vision Creator can do everything a Creator can, and also publish Premium work, open a Theater Premiere with tickets, and be paid. Only 180°, 360° and Wide work earns. You become a Vision Creator by invitation, or by applying from the app; the application checks rights, identity and a work sample. It is not an artistic judgement.
Two screens exist only for Vision Creators: Theater Premiere and Earnings. Everything else is shared.
2. Signing in, and the agreements
Everything runs on Sign in with Apple, the same Apple Account in the headset and here. There is no password. If you arrived by invitation, sign in with the Apple Account your invitation was sent to; the link works once.
The first time in, you are asked to read and accept the Creator Terms, the Privacy Notice and the Content Standards. A Vision Creator also accepts the Payment Terms, which say how views turn into money. Nothing opens until they are accepted, and if a document changes you are asked again.
3. Overview
Your workspace at a glance: how many experiences you have live, how many are in review, recent activity, and a short checklist of what to do next. Same for both kinds of creator.
4. Theater Experience
Where your work lives. New upload starts an upload in three steps: details, the file, review.
- Details. Title, description, format, category and tags. Tags help search; they never place you on a shelf. Two answers cannot be changed later by you, so they are asked plainly: was this primarily made with AI? and, for a Vision Creator, who is this for? Free catalogue or Premium. A Premium experience can be made free later; a free one can never be sold afterwards. AI-made work is welcome in the free catalogue and does not earn.
- The file. Your master uploads exactly as you exported it, full quality, untouched. A multi-gigabyte file can take hours on a home connection. The upload survives dropped connections, and if the tab closes you can resume by choosing the same file again; only the missing part travels. Stereo layout and camera details are read from the file itself.
- Review. Check everything, then submit. Every experience is reviewed by a person before it appears. There is no auto-publishing.
Below the upload button is your allowance: minutes of finished video in total, and what is left. Withdrawn work still counts until its video is removed; ask and it is released, and ask when you need more room.
Every experience is a row you can search and sort. Each row leads with its poster and folds open to three tools, available for the life of the experience, published or not:
- Poster. Drag to the frame that should stand for it on Home and in Explore, then press Save. Viewers see a new poster within about fifteen minutes.
- Trailer. Cut one straight from the footage by choosing where it starts and how long it runs, with the first and last frame shown as you choose, or upload one you made, up to two minutes. A trailer plays as the moving preview on Home and behind Watch Trailer, and never counts against your allowance. For a Premium experience the trailer is required: it is all that somebody who has not bought a ticket can see.
- Captions. Optional, as a WebVTT file. Viewers turn them on from the player.
Who Can Watch, lower on the same screen, is where a Vision Creator moves a Premium experience into the free catalogue. That door only opens one way and says so before you use it.
Reviews come back with a note. If changes are requested, the row gains Edit and resubmit. Retract a submission while it waits if you change your mind.
5. Theater Premiere (Vision Creators)
A premiere is an opening night: a run of ticketed showings, and everyone watches at showtime. While it runs, the experience is held out of Premium. An experience can premiere if it is 180°, 360° or Wide, Premium, ten minutes or longer, and has a trailer.
- Ticket prices. A 48-hour rental, and optionally a price to keep it. Renting always costs less than keeping. The ceiling depends on length: up to $5.99 for 10 to 15 minutes, $9.99 for 15 to 20, $19.99 beyond. Premium members pay half price for one premiere a month.
- Showings. On the hour or half hour, within a thirty-day window. A Single Gala is one showing and the promise there will never be another.
- Opening. Everything stays editable until the experience is approved; approval puts the run on sale by itself. An experience gets two runs at most, with seven days between them to schedule the second. After that, or sooner if you choose, it joins Premium for good.
6. Series
Start a series while uploading and add later episodes to it. Here you rename a series, set the order of its parts, and remove an empty one. A series is not premiered; it lives in Premium, where a habit is worth more than an occasion. A series costs half an allowance slot however many parts it has. Same for both kinds of creator, though only a Vision Creator can make a Premium series.
7. Analytics
What was watched, over the last thirty days: views per experience, how far people got, and which views counted. A Creator sees the watching; a Vision Creator also sees what it was worth, and the reason any view did not count. Views by you, by staff, or by people who are not Premium members are shown and never pay.
8. Earnings (Vision Creators)
Connect a bank account through Stripe, and see what each month settled to. Onboarding opens in its own tab; Stripe asks for your identity and bank details directly and we never see them. How views turn into money is its own page: How creators are paid.
9. Profile
Your public identity: channel name and about, which accompany everything you publish, and an optional website. Your full name and contact email are for us and for payment, never shown to viewers.
10. In the headset
Sign in to the app with the same Apple Account and your work is under Creator. Watch a submission back in its real format before it goes to review; the app uploads nothing, since masters are far too large to send from a headset. You do not need a Vision Pro to publish or to be paid.
